Bio: Joy Bock

Joy Bock brings more than three decades of experience in education and leadership to her role as principal. A proud graduate of Olentangy High School’s Class of 1987, she has spent most of her life in the Columbus, Ohio area. Joy earned her degree in education from West Virginia University and recently relocated to Youngstown to continue her commitment to fostering student success and educational excellence.
Her career began in Pennsylvania, where she spent ten years in the classroom before joining the Groveport Madison Local School District. Over her long and accomplished tenure there, she served in a variety of leadership and support roles—including teacher, department chair, program coordinator for the Resident Educator Program, mentor, union representative, and union president. In addition, Joy represented her colleagues statewide as a member of the Ohio Education Association Board of Directors for six years.
Guided by her vision to cultivate a safe, nurturing, and welcoming school environment, Joy focuses on helping students become well-rounded leaders. She places equal emphasis on strong academics, a positive school culture, and the development of essential social skills. Outside of her professional life, Joy enjoys reading, spending time with family, and relaxing on her boat during warm summer days.
